Range in New England

According to our sources, the New England range of the black-tailed jackrabbit is currently limited to Nantucket Island, MA. In New England, it was originally introduced into Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard (MA).

Update from 2019: According to the Mass. Dept. of Fish and Game, this rabbit may now be extirpated on Nantucket. However, the IUCN Red List shows it as extant (resident) in Massachusetts as of 2018.
