Green Heron Information

Length: 16 - 22"

Habitat: Freshwater and saltwater marshes with some shrubs or trees; shrubby or tree-lined edges of ponds, lakes, streams, and slow-moving rivers. Can be found feeding in
almost any aquatic habitat with shallow water.


Diet: Mostly small fish such as sunfish, minnows, and perch; also crustaceans, amphibians, snakes, earthworms, spiders, aquatic and terrestrial insects.
